The Children's Discovery Room features the exhibit, If You Lived in the Woodlands..., designed specifically for kids. An interactive space, the Discovery Room provides a fun and stimulating learning experience, showing visitors what life would have been like for them if they had been Native Americans living 600 years ago.
Visitors can see animals - such as our coyote, raccoon, red-tailed hawk and gray fox - up close and learn interesting facts about each of them. Then, after learning just a few of the many uses for all of the different parts of the deer, they can try on traditional Native clothes, made from deer skin! Visitors will also discover the different ways in which Native peoples across the country lived, through our interactive map. These are just a few of the many fun and engaging activities in the Children's Discovery Room!
