Replicated Algonkian Village A version of this outdoor replicated Algonkian village has existed at IAIS since 1979. In 1997, it was moved to its current location on the property. The village contains a longhouse, three wigwams of various materials, a dugout canoe and the Three Sisters Garden. click here to learn more Simulated Archaeological Site During the 1970s and 1980s, IAIS was involved with the excavation of many archaeological sites in and around Washington, Connecticut where indigenous peoples once lived and worked.
