The behind-the-scenes magic of exhibit creation begins in our state-of-the-art Research & Collections Building. Completed in 2002, this building is artifact-friendly with a climate controlled vault and spacious laboratory. It is home to an abundance of collections, both ethnographic and archaeological. It also houses both an education and research library, containing over 2,000 books and journals necessary for our staff to create intriguing and informative exhibits. Both libraries are open by appointment only. The Research & Collections Building also has a beautiful conference hall used for special events such as Archaeological Society of Connecticut meetings and the Institute's annual Founders' Day event.
